Once again Honda is leading the way when it comes to small engine technology and the all-new iGX series showcases just that. The new ECU (electronic control unit) with a self-tuning regulator governing system monitors and controls the engine function according to load and performance. This includes controlling the throttle, choke, and ignition timing so that you can get the optimum performance out of your engine. This allows the unit to self-adjust the engine speed to meet current load conditions as they are not always set and can change at any given instance, the iGX engine can self-adjust with these conditions to accommodate this. This is why this particular engine is most commonly found on machines such as pressure washers and generators where the load can frequently change.

Among these features, you will also see variable ignition timing, increased compression ratio, reduced noise pollution, increased fuel efficiency by up to 12%, and much more. Not only does this result in a more efficient product it also increases its power output by 6% making it one of the most powerful small engines in its class. 

Underneath all of this, you can still see the cornerstone features which made the Honda GX390 so great. This includes smooth in operation with a forged steel crankshaft, helical-cut gears, and an improved camshaft and muffler that reduces overall engine noise. Protected by an oil alert and an improved air filtration system that increases the service life by up to 50%  increase the durability of this engine. 

A cast-iron cylinder bore means it can withstand long hours of use in some of the harshest conditions. This particular engine is fitted with a 20amp charging coil which makes this machine more suitable for powering units that also require an electric clutch to be driven.
