This MS 271 fills a gap in the Stihl chainsaw range that has been asking to be filled for years. That is, finally a saw that is 50cc. This saw delivers 20% more run time than the older MS 271 (never brought into Australia) whilst also cutting the emissions in half making it a lot more environmentally friendly. The air filter system features Stihls pre-separation method which is so effective that your air filter can last up to five times longer than normal. Pre-separation Air Filtration System
The air-filtration system designed by Stihl improves the efficiency of the engines filtration doubling the time needed between air filtration cleanings. This is how it works; air that first enters the engine is separated through the centrifugal force which consequently removes the heavier dirt particles before the air is routed to the air filter. This pre-separation process results in less dirt captured by the air filter meaning it needs cleaning less and the saw lasts longer.

Anti-Vibraton System
Using a chainsaw always results is significant vibration causing fatigue for the operator. Thats why Stihl's anti-vibration system is an innovative piece of technology that sets it apart from the rest. The vibration system sees the oscillations from the engine dampened reducing the handle vibration. MS 271 has higher quality vibration buffer points to improve its anti vibration.
