This is the newest chainsaw addition to the Stihl battery range and isn't it a good one! This is now the most powerful Stihl battery saw in their range to date. This saw utilises the power of the Stihl AP 300S battery (recommended) to provide the ultimate cutting performance by any battery chainsaw they have. It has a higher chain speed of up to 24 m/s which creates a faster and more efficient cut and the tool-free adjustment makes handling the chain a breeze.
This saw is able to handle both domestic and commercial work, whether that be cleaning up around your property or felling small trees you will find plenty of uses for the MSA 220; reducing noise, fumes and starting issues with the Stihl lithium-ion technology. Fitted with a 16" bar (optional 14") and a 3/8P chain there isn't much this chainsaw cannot tackle and with the AP 300 S you can get up to a monstrous 48 minutes run time! Now that's up to 48 minutes of actual cutting!

The black soft component on the rear handle gives the operator a comfortable grip on the MSA 220 so they can securely hold the unit.
This is tool free chain tensioning that makes this chainsaw so user friendly. All you need is your hands to loosen the sprocket cover, turn the knob and tension the chain. NO TOOLS NEEDED
Stihl's electric motor (EC) technology is above the rest. It is lightweight, compact and super efficient, running quite and generating low vibrations with no engine servicing required.
The STIHL Ematic chain lubrication system provides maximum lubrication, longer wear and less oil consumption that conventional methods of chain lubrication. The oil consumption can therefore be reduced by up to 50%
